4. Ruby, Databases & Interviewing

5. Rails & Preparing for Job Search

This module will help you understand model-view-controller architecture, database connection, and authentication and authorization through the Rails framework. Also, you will learn best practices and tools for job searching. 

6. Final Capstone Group Project

In How Much Time Will I Complete the Full-Stack Web Development Program?

It takes around seven months to complete the core program and a median time of five months of job searching. Students generally find a job within a year of starting Microverse, making nearly three times as much as they did before the program!

Will I Get a Certificate When I Complete the Program?

Yes, Microverse will provide you with a certification after you complete the program. Even though a governing authority does not accredit this certificate, it will add value to your job search materials.

Is There a Part-Time Program?

Not at this time. Microverse’s web development program is currently full-time, from Monday to Friday, where you will learn coding for 8-9 hours a day. 

How to Join Microverse’s Web Development Program?

Here are the steps to apply and join this program: 

Step 1: Create a Profile

To start your application process, visit apply to Microverse now and create your profile. You must enter your first and last name, email address, and password. Once you have created a profile, you can move on to the next step in the process.

Step 2: Solve Coding Challenges

After completing your profile, you will need to solve three coding challenges within four hours. This test checks if you are serious about pursuing a career as a software developer. You will have to solve these algorithmic problems using JavaScript. Microverse offers the opportunity to receive support from coordinators and understand what it is like to be a student at one of our schools. 

Step 3: Sign up for Microverse Trials

After successfully passing Microverse coding challenges, you will submit a check-in form for Microverse Trials. In the Trials, students learn about remote collaboration and pair programming. You can show your coding skills to Microverse and know if it is the best choice. 

Step 4: Pass the Microverse Trials

The next step is to help students determine if pair programming and collaborative learning suit them. In the Microverse Trials, you will collaborate with other applicants on a video call and work on coding projects, and all applicants will rate each other at the end of the project. 

Step 5: Appear in an Interview

It will take you 20 minutes to complete a remote video interview. This interview is asynchronous, so you can do it whenever is best for you. More information about the admission interviews can be found here

Step 6: Join an Acceptance Call

Once accepted, you will be invited to attend a Microverse acceptance call led by the Microverse team. Once accepted, you can complete your student registration forms, pick your start date, and get set to join the program!
